Looking for a recommendation for a body shop that can work on the rust damage on my ’66 bug. Do you have a place you would recommend?

Hi John,

Body shops are a tricky thing. The cost of repairs are directly related to time involved and quality of work. I have several shops, but my recommendation would be based on your budget and expectation of their quality. If you are just looking for the cheapest guy and quality doesn’t matter I would suggest to find a body man that works out of their house for for extra cash.

I see that your phone has a 310 area code. If you live in Southern California, it is my experience that most quality body shops that still work on customer paid (non insurance paid) restoration projects will estimate the amount of days to do the work, multiply this by $1,000.00 per day and you will have your estimate…

Thanks for the question, Andy
