Engle Camshaft Kit Application
Hi Woody,
Thanks for your question. Making the right cam selection will make all the difference in how your motor performs. The main key to keep in mind is that all the components must work well together. The camshaft is responsible for the air coming in and out of your motor. Because of this, it needs to work with your carburetor and intake manifold along with the exhaust system you chose. Based from your statement that this is a stock 1600 motor without any modification, I am making the assumption that your carburetor, intake and exhaust are all stock. Therefore, I would not recommend this choice for a camshaft. I would look at the 6100EMK. This will give you a better idle, better low end torque and overall performance in the RPM range that a stock motor is designed to work.
Hope you find this reply helpful.
Thanks,
Andy
