VW Thing Exhaust Replacement Options

Hi Andy,

I spoke to you recently and thanks for all your help. My Thing has a pea shooter exhaust on it and I would like to replace it with a model that exhausts through the stock holes in the bumper, is stainless, or ceramic coated. A bit quieter than I have now would be good but some of that can be achieved by noise dampening in the rear of the car. I have a single carb now but plan on changing to a 2 carb set up and a hotter ignition system in the near future.

What exhaust system upgrade would you suggest, a few options if they exist would be great.

Thank You,

John C.

Hi John,

Thank you for your question. In our Tri-Mil line we make a special exhaust for the VW Things, group part #310230. These exhaust systems are made from mild steel and offered in three different finishes:
• Raw steel, part #310230-R
• Satin black ceramic, part #310230-BKC
• Polished silver ceramic, part #310230-PC

All of the #310230 exhaust systems have a nice deep tone and they are louder than stock. This is to be expected from a performance exhaust system.

Hope this all helps,

Andy
